Astrophotography Exhibitions celebrating of the night sky
by local photographer Rohit Vig.
Large prints of deep space and landscape astrophotography will be visible at indoor & outdoor locations across Pt Chevalier & at Mt Albert Library leading up to Matariki Day.
Distant galaxies, nebulae, planets, star constellations, nightscapes - many shot from his inner-city backyard using telescopes as well as everyday cameras & lenses.
Through the ages, human civilisations had cultural links to and deep appreciation of the stars, however most of us now living in increasingly light-polluted cities are losing this. Rohit's images conveys a sense of the wonder and vastness of the universe we inhabit and a reminder to look up at the stars again.
Rohit will run a free public workshop on “Stargazing from your backyard” at
Mt Albert Library on Saturday 14th June at 2pm

Supported by Neighbourhood Arts and Auckland Council Albert-Eden Ward, Ray White Pt Chevalier & Godwin Design.
